What we use and why
We store your email address, salted password hash, login sessions, beta access status, photographs, item details, saved valuations and drafts. When you connect eBay, we store the confirmed seller identity and an encrypted renewable connection, delivery preferences, prepared listing details, listing identifiers and status. We use these to identify items, save your progress, prepare and publish listings you approve, support you and protect the service.
We also keep limited usage counts and technical records to enforce beta limits and diagnose problems. Content screening can record a content hash, time and reason for a hold. Unfinished scans are cleared after 24 hours of inactivity; saved valuations and listing records stay until you remove them or delete your account.
Services involved
Item photographs and notes are sent to OpenAI for identification and content screening. Item details are sent to OpenAI to prepare listing text. Search terms are sent to eBay to find current comparison listings. When you connect eBay, eBay confirms your seller identity and authorises the connection.
Preparing a listing sends photographs and listing details to eBay for image hosting and listing checks, before your final publication decision. A separate confirmation publishes the finished listing on real eBay for enabled accounts. Hosting and email are provided through GoDaddy. No payment provider is connected and no Make It Sold beta fee is collected. These providers handle information under their own policies.
Your controls
You can remove saved valuations and unfinished scans, and delete your account and saved beta data from Account. You can disconnect eBay from Account. To request access, correction or deletion, contact us at the address above. Disconnecting or deleting your Make It Sold account does not cancel published eBay listings or delete information retained by eBay. Manage those in eBay. A verified eBay account-deletion notification also triggers cleanup of the matching connected account's local item records and connection.
Security and retention
Connections use HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, login cookies are inaccessible to page scripts, and application credentials stay on the server. Customer records and seller connections use encrypted private storage. Beta account records are kept while your account is active; deletion removes active Make It Sold account data. Operational backups may retain older copies separately until they expire. Contact us for the current backup retention details or a deletion request involving backups.
